Our 'Wiskaway' 1000 Wallbeds comply fully with all current health & safety, manual handling and infection control requirements and can be supplied with a wipe-clean/'waterproof', flame retardant (CRIB 5) mattress.

An older version of the 2ft.6ins. 1000 is shown here in one of the cubicles, on the children's wards, at St Mary's Hospital, in Portsmouth, where 25 beds were installed, into purpose-built cupboards, in 1994.

The most popular model for this type of application is now our 'Wiskaway' 7500 Wallbed, which comes complete with its own smart, unobtrusive, integral housing in a wide range of sizes and finishes.

Other applications for our 'Wiskaway' Wallbeds, in the healthcare sector, include providing overnight accommodation for patients' relatives/spouses, on adult wards and in hospices and providing rest facilities for on-call GPs, medical and laboratory staff.

A current requirement in children's hospitals is to provide overnight accommodation for at least one parent, as near as possible to the sick child's bed.

Various types of space saving bed have been employed over the years for this purpose, including our 'Glideaway' Guest Bed, but the ultimate solution to the problem of where to put parents, is a wall bed.

Our 'Wiskaway' 1000 Wallbed is particularly suited for this type of application, as it has been designed for heavy-duty contract use, can be made-up and folded away - complete with all the bedding - in literally seconds, during the day, or in an emergency, into a purpose-built cabinet, with independent doors.

At night, the bed can be folded down and ready to use in seconds and offers the same standard of comfort and convenience as a good quality divan bed.
